Opening Hours

You can come to spend your evening at one of the most impressive rooftop venues in Bangkok on any day.

ABar Rooftop is open daily from 17:00 to 01:00.

Food at ABar Rooftop

ABar Rooftop is built around one of the largest gin selections in Bangkok — over 100 varieties including many rare craft labels — used as the foundation for an extensive program of signature G&Ts and innovative cocktails. It is a pure cocktail bar with small plates rather than a dining destination with a drink-forward identity unlike any other rooftop in the list of the most popular rooftop bars in Bangkok.

The food offering is concise and deliberately bar-friendly, designed to accompany drinks rather than substitute for dinner. Signatures cover edamame with Maldon sea salt or kimchi butter, French fries with parmesan, vegetarian rolls with carrot, spinach and eringi, vegetarian mandu with tofu, kimchi and sesame, crispy mandu with pork and chives, shrimp tempura roll with eel sauce, pork ribs skewer with ssamjang, spicy chicken popcorn with jalapeño aioli, spicy tuna tacos in crispy wonton, angry salmon rolls with chojang and crab stick, angry tuna rolls with yellowfin tuna, pickled jalapeño and tobiko, and the standout crispy rice with Cajun tuna, nori paste and spicy ponzu aioli. Cheese and cold cuts offer a cheese platter, with the format typical of a curated 3–5 cheese board with accompaniments.

The food range is tighter than any other venue in the list, reflecting a deliberate bar identity.

Drinks at ABar Rooftop

The cocktail program is the most conceptually ambitious and Bangkok-rooted of any rooftop venue in the list. The Signature collection (400–450 THB) is themed around Bangkok's districts and landmarks — each drink is an edible neighborhood portrait. Standouts include Boat Noodle, Krung Thep, Muay Thai Smash, New World Mall, and Golden Mountain. The more spirit-forward end includes Neoclassic Brutalism and 60-Baht-Ticket-Or-So. Non-alcoholic cocktails are 225 THB for eight thoughtfully constructed options

Three Signature G&Ts (all 460 THB) are built on Tanqueray London Dry with Thai-specific modifiers — Thai mulberry and white pepper (No.1), kra-pao with chili tincture and watermelon (No.2), and kaffir lime with guava (No.3).

Beer covers craft bottles — Marquis, Asahi Super Dry, Chalawan, HOD Director's, Maisel's Weisse, Corona, Federbräu, and Peroni — plus Chang Cold Brew draught and a Brothers Toffee Apple cider (225–375 THB).

Wine is a supporting cast and cost from 1,820 THB per bottle. No wines by the glass are listed.

The defining feature of ABar is its gin program — over 100 expressions organized into seven subcategories, which no other rooftop in Bangkok matches in depth or curation.

London Dry gins span Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire family, Tanqueray and No. 10, No.3 London Dry, Sacred London Dry, and Oxley. Distilled gins cover European craft (Citadelle, Filliers 28, Gin Mare, Granit, Bobby's Schiedam), international labels (Drumshanbo Gunpowder, Hendrick's Flora Adora, The Botanist, Four Pillars Fresh Yuzu, Hapusa Himalayan, Ondina Italy), and Japanese expressions (Nikka Coffey). Flavored gins include the full Buss No.509 Belgian range, Ferdinand's Saar and Quince, Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz, and the full Whitley Neill and Forty Spotted families. Modern/Contemporary gins include Hendrick's, Monkey 47, Ki No Bi, G'Vine Floraison and Nouaison, Roku, Caorunn, Ink Gin, Iron Balls Thailand, Lady Trieu, Saneha, Sod Chaeng, Kosapan, and the full Akayane Heart seasonal Japanese range. Specialty categories include Navy Strength (Rock Rose), Old Tom (City of London), Barrel Aged (Dictador Treasure, Filliers Barrel Aged, Four Pillars Barrel Aged, Martin Miller's 9 Moons at 1,650 THB — the most expensive single pour in the program), and Genever (Bols).

Pricing & Value

ABar sits in a distinctive niche: it is not the most affordable (signature cocktails at 400–450 THB are comparable to Spectrum and Red Sky Bar's standard range), but it is by far the most specialized and cocktail-credible of any rooftop in the list of the most popular rooftop bars in Bangkok.

The gin selection is in a category of its own — no other venue offers more than 20–30 gin expressions, while ABar presents over 100.

Food is minimal by design and priced well for the location (160–420 THB for bar bites), comparable to Octave's upper floors and below Red Sky Bar's snack menu.

Wine is bottle-only with a limited list, signalling that guests are expected to drink cocktails and gin rather than wine. The absence of a spirits list beyond gin (no whisky/bourbon section, no extensive cognac list) reinforces the conceptual purity of the venue.

For cocktail enthusiasts and gin lovers specifically, ABar offers the most technically interesting and Bangkok-rooted drinking experience of any venue reviewed.
