Food at AkaAza Bar Rooftop
Unlike most hotel rooftop bars, AkaAza runs a genuinely broad all-day menu that spans breakfast, Thai classics, international mains, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and dessert — positioning it as a full-service bar-restaurant rather than a drinks-first venue.
Breakfast (06:00–11:00) is simple and well-priced, covering kaya toast with soft-boiled eggs, two eggs any style, Asian porridge or fried rice, a continental set, and a full American breakfast with all accompaniments.
From 11:00 onwards, the food menu opens fully. The Thai section is the most distinctive and wide-ranging: a showcase Four Blessings Platter of golden bag dumplings, pandan chicken, pla kung shrimp salad, and ma-hor combines classic canapés in one sharing dish; the signature pad thai wrapped in an egg net with a choice of Trang tiger prawns or Ayutthaya river prawn is a clear standout. Curries cover all the main traditions — green, panang, and a slow-braised New Zealand lamb massaman shank. Holy basil stir-fry, cashew nut chicken, and pad see ew round out the street-food staples.
On the international side, the menu offers a solid selection of bar and casual dining food — calamari, truffle fries, gambas (tiger prawns with garlic and white wine and homemade ciabatta), beef nachos, trio satay, Bangkok fish and chips in beer batter, and mixed German sausages with sauerkraut. Salads cover Caesar (with optional chicken or salmon), burrata from Emilia-Romagna with Royal Project cherry tomatoes, rucola with prawns and green apple, beef carpaccio with Parmigiano and truffle oil, and Parma ham with imported Shizuoka Crown Melon. Pastas and pizzas are homemade in-house, covering carbonara, bolognese, truffle pasta with Italian sausage, frutti di mare, and pizzas from margherita to four-cheese to Parma ham and rocket.
Main courses include seared salmon, seabass, grilled Kurobuta pork, beef striploin (steak 'n' potatoes), beef tenderloin with truffle mash and red wine reduction, and a whole roasted free-range baby chicken.
Desserts feature mango sticky rice, I-tim kati coconut ice cream in a young coconut shell, tiramisu with a hint of Kahlua, dark chocolate brownies with gelato, and a fresh fruit platter.
A dedicated kids menu with American fried rice, nuggets, fries, and pasta pomodoro makes AkaAza distinctly family-inclusive.
Drinks at AkaAza Bar Rooftop
The cocktail program positions AkaAza as a proper craft bar with Thai-inspired personality. The four Amara Signature cocktails (600 THB) lead the menu. Prosecco cocktails (500 THB) cover classic riffs — Pearl with limoncello, Mimosa, Royal with black currant, and Bellini with peach schnapps. Beer cocktails (450 THB) include a Beerjito, The Hulk, and Bangkok Sangria. Standard cocktails covering all the classics are uniformly 420–450 THB, while mocktails are a flat 300 THB for four options. Liqueurs are 320–390 THB.
Beer covers Thai (Singha, Chang), Asian imports (Asahi, Heineken), and Corona that cost between 250 THB and 350 THB, plus draught options by glass, pint, pitcher, or tower.
The wine list is modest but serviceable. House wines are 360–400 THB per glass and 1,750-2,000 THB per bottle. The broader wine list spans Italian whites (Brancaia, Allegrin Soave, Livon Pinot Grigio), a New Zealand Craggy Range Chardonnay, French Laroche Chablis, and reds from Spain (Marques de Riscal, Torres Coronas), Italy (Frescobaldi Chianti, Antinori Chianti Classico Peppoli), Argentina (Pepperjack Malbec), and Australia (Penfolds Bin 8 Shiraz).
Champagne and Prosecco ranges from Zonin Prosecco NV up to Champagne Telmont Réserve Brut and Pommery Brut Royal.
Spirits are well-stocked: whiskies from Johnnie Walker Red Label to Blue Label; single malts including AnCnoc 12YO, Old Pulteney 12YO, Balblair 12YO, and Glenfiddich 15YO; bourbons (Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's, Maker's Mark); gin from Beefeater to Monkey 47; vodka from Smirnoff to Grey Goose; and tequila from Jose Cuervo to Patrón Añejo. Cognac covers Rémy Martin VSOP, Hennessy VSOP, and Martell Cordon Bleu.
Pricing & Value
AkaAza is one of the most accessible and family-friendly venues in the list of the most popular rooftops in Bangkok. Food prices are moderate by any Bangkok standard — Thai mains 440–900 THB, pastas 470–690 THB, pizzas 470–580 THB, Western mains 600–830 THB, and the prestige Massamun lamb shank at 2,300 THB being the only real splurge on the food side. Breakfast sets at 250–400 THB make it viable as an all-day dining destination, not just a sundowner spot.
Cocktails at 420–600 THB are mid-range — above Octave's happy hour pricing but below Spectrum and well below Sky Bar. The wine list is priced for casual hotel dining rather than wine connoisseurs.
The breadth of the food menu, the kids section, the breakfast service, and the open-hours format (until midnight daily) make AkaAza one of the most versatile and price-accessible rooftop venues, comfortably fitting a couple's full evening of drinks and dinner in the 1,500–2,500 THB range.
