Food at Scarlett Rooftop Bar

Scarlett Wine Bar and Restaurant is a rooftop French bistro on Silom Road, offering produce-driven French cuisine, with the kitchen leaning firmly into classic French technique with a bistro sensibility — charcuterie, terrines, tartares, escargot, and dry-aged grilled meats are the backbone, with a generosity of spirit.

The full dinner menu opens with a notable oyster and cheese counter, alongside an extensive charcuterie section featuring Parma Ham, Jamón Ibérico Pata Negra, and a Joselito Board of Spanish cured meats with pan con tomate. Cheese boards are served with an actual cheese counter tour at 2/3/5 selections. Pâtés and terrines are a real strength and point of difference from other rooftop venues.

First impressions cover Niçoise salad, Tasmanian smoked salmon, burrata salad, a Lyonnaise salad, bone marrow with tomato confit, Alaskan king crab with mango and avocado, Burgundy snails baked in garlic butter, pan-seared foie gras with pork belly and artichoke, and a Lobster Caesar with half Maine lobster. The soups are French classics done properly — French onion with Gruyère and beef consommé, lobster bisque in puff pastry dome, and truffle and porcini cream with a 63-degree egg. Tartares cover salmon, tuna, and a classic Beef Tartare 'à la Montmartre' from hand-cut raw beef tenderloin, all served with fries and salad.

Scarlett signatures include a proper duck leg confit with sautéed potatoes, whole roasted baby chicken with truffle mash, slow-cooked lamb shank, 12-hour braised wagyu beef cheek, pike fish quenelle with Chardonnay sauce — a genuinely rare dish on any Bangkok menu, and Hokkaido scallops with Parmigiano and truffle cream. Pastas and risotti are all house-made fettuccine or house pasta, while the grill section is also serious. From the ocean: Tasmanian salmon, Spanish octopus, tiger prawn, snow fish, Mediterranean seabream and seabass at whole fish prices.

The Small Plates menu is a separate everyday bar-food offering ranging 180–420 THB: marinated olives, black olive tapenade, sweet potato fries, calamari, deviled eggs with smoked salmon, Tasmanian salmon ceviche, seabass ceviche, tomato confit and stracciatella with salmon roe, crispy prawn, slow-cooked tuna, egg cocotte with truffle and Parma Ham, and truffle beef tartare.

Desserts include Grand Marnier soufflé, mille-feuille "Grands Augustins," baba au rhum, Île flottante with caramelized popcorn and Baileys, chocolate lava, 70% Valrhona chocolate palet, lemon tart, apple pie with Calvados caramel ice cream, crème brûlée, chocolate profiteroles with Chiang Mai chocolate sauce, deconstructed mango sticky rice, and a sherbet platter of three house-made sherbets.

Drinks at Scarlett Rooftop Bar

Cocktails are accessibly priced by Bangkok rooftop standards, with six signature creations at 380 THB — Scarlett Night, Pop My Cherry, The Red Nails, Sarita, Te Fiti, and Coffee Breath. Classic cocktails run 350–380 THB covering Bee's Knees, Clover Club, Negroni, Aperol Spritz, New York Sour, Mai Tai, and Rome with a View. Mocktails are a very accessible at 210 THB for five options.

Wines by the glass begin at 190 THB and reach 700 THB with Bollinger Rosé.

The wine list is the most impressive in the entire rooftop survey relative to format — Scarlett is explicitly a wine bar first, and it shows.

Champagne starts with Pommery Brut and Veuve Clicquot up to Dom Pérignon 2015, Cristal 2014/2015, Cristal Rosé 2013, and Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Grand Cru 2012 at 17,900 THB.

White wines by the bottle are exhaustive: Chardonnay ranges from Chilean entry level (1,050 THB) through Chablis Premier Cru William Fèvre, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Fontaine-Gagnard, Peter Michael "Ma Belle Fille", and Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon (16,500 THB). Sauvignon Blanc spans New Zealand, Napa, Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and prestigious Pessac-Léognan labels. Other whites cover Viognier, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Grigio, Soave, Etna Bianco, and a Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc. Rosé is anchored by Provence labels.

The red wine list is similarly deep. Merlot is dominated by Right Bank Bordeaux: from Châteaux in Castillon, St. Émilion, and Pomerol, with standouts including Château Figeac 2018, Château L'Évangile Pomerol 1995, and the prestige cellar anchor Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1996 at 30,000 THB. Cabernet Sauvignon spans Chile, Australia, South Africa, and France. Pinot Noir is curated from New Zealand through Peter Michael and Burgundy.

Spirits are notably some of the most affordable at the most popular rooftops in Bangkok with the quality level offered. A curated cigar menu spans Cohiba Short to Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial.

Happy Hour is daily from doors open until 19:00 (weekends from 16:00) offering a sparkling wine at 150 THB, house white or red at 100 THB, and two signature cocktails — Five To Seven (rosso vermouth, raspberry, tonic) and Til The Last Call (sparkling wine sous vide with cucumber, ginger ale) — at 150 THB each, plus Chang beer at 100 THB.

Pricing & Value

Scarlett is one of the most price-accessible serious wine and food destinations between the most popular rooftop bars in Bangkok.

Happy hour cocktails and house wine at 100–150 THB are the lowest of any venue; signature cocktails at 350–380 THB are well below SpectrumSky Bar, and even Octave.

Small plates at 180–420 THB are competitive with Octave's upper-floor snacks and far more interesting. Dinner mains on the full menu span 440 THB (pasta) to 5,400 THB (Tomahawk), but the sweet spot — a duck confit, beef cheek, fish quenelle, or a pasta — sits squarely in the 440–880 THB range, which is among the lowest of any comparable-quality French cooking in Bangkok, rooftop or otherwise. The grill is priced similarly to or slightly below Red Sky Restaurant and Sirocco for equivalent beef quality.

The wine list, covering over 200 labels from 1,050 THB bottles to Château Climens Sauternes and Cristal Rosé, rivals The Dome's wine list in selection breadth while being anchored by significantly more entry-accessible pricing — many excellent bottles under 2,500 THB that don't exist at other rooftop venues.

Scarlett is one of the best-value rooftop dining destinations, combining the depth of a wine bar, the ambition of a French bistro kitchen, and competitive pricing at every level.
